  • Visitors MUST know how to swim and slide in a seated position ONLY. If you can not swim, you can not slide!

    The pool is approximately 8 feet deep. The river is very cold and fast moving water.

    Children under 7 years must slide with an adult (one adult per child) and children must be able to swim.

    Only approved personal floatation devices (PFD) are permitted. Floats, tubes, noodles, inflatables or boards are NOT permitted.

    Alcohol and picnicking are not permitted. Please use nearby picnic areas before or after your visit.

    All visiting groups must adequately supervise and maintain control of their group at all times.

    The recreation area may close due to heavy rainfall, increased water levels and lightning.

    Visitors must adhere to the guidance of the staff and lifeguards who are enforcing the rules and managing risks to ensure the safety of all our guests.

    Always use caution around waterfalls as the surrounding surfaces and walkways are extremely slippery. Have fun and be safe!

  • Embark on an exhilarating adventure at Sliding Rock, a breathtaking 60-foot mountain water slide culminating in an inviting 8-foot deep pool. Witness the excitement from the well-placed observation platform as nearly 11,000 gallons of water per minute power this awe-inspiring natural wonder. Our dedicated staff ensures a memorable experience, with operations running from Memorial Day to Labor Day, seven days a week.

    Plan your visit strategically to avoid the peak hours between 12 noon and 4 pm. Coming early allows you to make the most of this captivating recreation area before it gets crowded.

    Please note, the recreation area may temporarily close in response to heavy rainfall, increased water levels or lightning to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors. Explore the wonders of Sliding Rock, where every slide creates lasting memories.

  • The entry fee is $5 per person. Cash and credit cards are accepted, however credit cards are preferred. No refunds, all sales are final.

    The facility provides restrooms with changing rooms and parking, when the recreation area is staffed and fees are charged.

    To ease congestion in the parking area, picnicking is not allowed. Please use nearby picnic areas before or after your visit.

    On weekends and holidays, police officers are on-site to assist with parking, traffic and site safety.

    Sliding Rock is open Memorial Day to Labor Day from 9am to 6pm daily, weather permitting.

    The Sliding Rock gatehouse and restrooms are closed for the season as of November 15, 2023. There are no staff or lifeguards on duty during this time. Visitors are encouraged to view the beautiful nearby Looking Glass Falls as an alternative.

    Sliding Rock will reopen on Friday, May 24, 2024 and will operate 7 days a week through Labor Day.
