This first-come, first-served site is surrounded by longleaf and sand pine forest and offers a low-key atmosphere without the crowds. It’s easy to access, has ample parking, and gives you the freedom to enjoy your time at your own pace—no planning required.

Tucked just off State Road 40, Wildcat Lake is the kind of place you can launch a small boat, canoe, or kayak and spend a peaceful morning on the water. Whether you're exploring the quiet edges of the lake or simply cruising under the open sky, it’s a refreshing escape into Florida’s pine-dotted landscape.

A wayside stop along SR 40, Wildcat Lake shimmers in the middle of the Big Scrub. Launch your boat and head out on the lake for a morning of fishing, nature viewing or just a quiet cruise around the lake.
Note: Lake Wildcat has a special regulation requiring all largemouth bass to be released immediately.
- The recreation area provides pit toilets with a changing area.
- Picnic areas include tables and pedestal grills.
- Paddlecraft launching for kayaks and canoes.
- Parking is available for both standard vehicles and trailers.
- Please note: Wildcat Lake is a day-use only site. Overnight camping and parking is not permitted.
Day Use Admission and Launch Fees:
- $13 per vehicle (plus tax)
