Davidson River Campground: Temporary Closure for Renovations

Davidson River

Davidson River Campground — one of Pisgah National Forest’s most popular destinations — will be closed from November 2025 through May 2026 for a major renovation of its bathhouses.

This six-month project, led by the U.S. Forest Service and Naventure, is part of a broader reinvestment initiative to improve facilities and ensure an enhanced, sustainable visitor experience.

Davidson River is anticipated to reopen in May 2026 with upgraded facilities that reflect a continued commitment to stewardship, visitor experience, and the long-term care of our public lands.

We look forward to welcoming you back to a refreshed Davidson River Campground next spring.

🚧 Please Avoid the Area During Construction

The closure includes all campground loops, bathhouses, and facilities within Davidson River Campground. Construction zones can be hazardous, and access is restricted for your safety and to protect the crews working on site.

Your cooperation will help keep the project on schedule so Davidson River can reopen on time in spring 2026—ready to welcome you back with refreshed facilities.
