TITLE: On-Site Campground Host
LOCATION: Lake Powhatan
DEPARTMENT: Naventure
REPORTS TO: Campground Manager
JOB TYPE: Part-Time (Immediate opening; minimum commitment of August 2026 - Feb 2027 with the opportunity to extend)
SCHEDULE: Average Seasonal Hours (hours vary based on operational needs):
- Summer: 20-35 hours/week
- Winter: 10-20 hours/week
COMPENSATION: $13.80/hour, sick pay, complimentary full-hookup RV site, on-site laundry
POSITION SUMMARY:
Campground Hosts work as part of a team to ensure the campground is well maintained and that all visitors receive excellent service. This position provides hands-on support across various campground operations including guest services, facility maintenance monitoring, and site preparation. Hosts create a welcoming, family-friendly, and safe environment for all visitors while working collaboratively with supervisors and fellow team members.
LIVING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires living on-site in your own RV. A complimentary full-hookup (water/electric/sewer) site is provided. Cell phone and internet service are extremely limited at the campground.
I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work designated scheduled shifts in their entirety, arriving on time and staying until completion
Provide excellent customer service to all campground visitors, responding to guest questions and concerns in a friendly and professional manner
Enforce campground rules and regulations per U.S. Forest Service guidelines in a friendly and respectful manner
Adhere to all campground rules and regulations as a representative of Naventure
Perform guest service operations including check-ins, guest inquiries, and processing transactions using recreation.gov and Square POS systems
Clean and maintain bathroom facilities to high cleanliness standards
Perform campsite cleanup and preparation between guest stays
Assist with glamping operations as assigned (Lake Powhatan Site Only)
Assist with light maintenance and landscaping duties as assigned
Monitor campground for safety concerns and report issues to supervisors promptly
Follow all standard operating procedures and safety protocols
Complete timesheets accurately in Paychex system
Team Collaboration & Communication:
Work cooperatively with supervisors and fellow hosts to ensure smooth operations
Communicate proactively with team members about operational needs or concerns
Check in with supervisor at the beginning and end of shifts as directed
Alert supervisors to any issues, maintenance needs, or guest concerns
Maintain a positive, helpful attitude and contribute to a supportive work environment
Participate in orientation, training, and regular check-in sessions
Be flexible and willing to assist with various tasks as operational needs arise
II. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Customer service experience or strong interpersonal skills
Team-oriented attitude and ability to work collaboratively
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established procedures
Comfortable working with basic technology (recreation.gov, point-of-sale systems, timekeeping software)
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Must own or have access to an RV suitable for full-time living
Physical ability to perform job duties including:
Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Lifting up to 30 pounds regularly
Bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
Walking campground grounds throughout shifts
