VEHICLE RESERVATION REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE MAY 24 - SEPTEMBER 1, 2025

Vehicle Reservations are required for Day Use visitation at Alexander Springs from May 24 through September 1, 2025 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays including Memorial Day (May 26), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day Holiday (July 4 ), and Labor Day (September 1).

  • Located in the heart of the Ocala National Forest, Alexander Springs Recreation Area is one of Florida’s most beloved natural destinations. Known for its crystal-clear waters and lush forest setting, it offers a relaxing yet adventure-filled escape for swimmers, paddlers, hikers, and campers alike. The recreation area features a first-magnitude spring, a family-friendly day use area, and a shaded campground with direct access to trails and the spring run. Whether you're planning a day trip or an overnight stay, Alexander Springs connects you to the wonder and beauty of Florida’s wild side.

  • Campsites at Alexander Springs can be reserved in advance and often book up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. Before reserving, here are a few key things to know:

    • Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early arrivals must pay the day-use fee; late departures may be charged or required to pay for extended access.

    • Gate hours vary by season. The entrance gate closes at 8:00 PM during Daylight Saving Time (March–October) and 6:00 PM (November–March). Plan your arrival accordingly.

    • Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Generators are not allowed during this time.

    • Pets are allowed in the campground only (not in the day-use or swimming areas) and must be leashed and attended at all times.

    • Food must be stored properly—bears and raccoons are active in the area.

  • Alexander Springs Recreation Area requires a per-person admission fee for day use access, collected on-site at the gate. During the peak season, a vehicle reservation is also required on weekends and holidays.

    Day Use Admission:

    • $13 per person (plus tax)

    • Children 5 and under: Free

    • Annual Day Use Pass: $80 (plus tax), available for purchase on-site

    Vehicle Reservations Required:

    • Weekends and holidays from Memorial Day through Labor Day

    • $20 per vehicle, in addition to per-person admission

    • Must be purchased in advance at www.ReserveOcala.com

    • Benefits of reserving include guaranteed entry, flexible arrival times, and the ability to come and go throughout the day.

    During the reservation period, entry is guaranteed with a valid reservation. On non-reservation days, access is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the area reaches capacity.
