LOCATION(S): Ocala National Forest, Florida

  • Juniper Springs Campground & Recreation Area

  • Salt Springs Campground & Recreation Area

  • Silver Glen Springs Recreation Area

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
JOB TYPE: Part-time, Seasonal, Non-exempt
SCHEDULE: 24- 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
PAY RANGE: $14.00/hour living onsite / $16/hour living offsite

**Onsite living applicants must provide their own fully operational and self-contained, hard-sided RV. Full site hookup with utilities included provided while employed with Naventure. Laundry facilities are provided on site.

Job Description:

As a Campground & Recreation Host, you’ll help create a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for visitors to the cool, bubbling springs of one of the USFS Campgrounds & Recreation Areas. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who enjoys working with people, staying active, and being surrounded by nature.

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet and register guests and collect user fees.  

  • Assists in inspecting and cleaning the grounds.   

  • Complete all required reports, including the daily use report. 

  • Routine cleaning of the day use area, toilet facilities, grills, and grounds. 

  • Engage the visitor to increase their experience level. 

  • Support any Interpretive programs. 

  • Provide recreation and local area information to customers. 

  • Use “Good Host” concepts with the public. 

  • Attends meetings held regularly during the season as a combination of planning and training opportunities.  

  • Routinely work weekends, evenings and/or holidays as scheduled.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Friendly, professional communication and strong customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures

  • Comfortable handling cash and using basic technology (iPad/POS systems)

  • Calm, respectful approach to guest questions or conflicts

  • Ability to identify safety hazards and respond appropriately

  • Ability to work effectively with company staff, U.S. Forest Service, and the public.

  • Valid, current driver’s license required

  • Bonus: light maintenance or equipment experience (golf carts, mowers, etc.)

Lifestyle & Schedule:

  • Seasonal, outdoor position in the Ocala National Forest

  • Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in variable weather conditions.

  • Requires mobility on uneven natural terrain; extensive walking, standing, bending, lifting, pushing/pulling light to heavy loads.

  • Ability to use hand tools, equipment, computers, and tablets.

  • Occasional travel between sites may be required.
